| May 2, 2008 Romans 15:5-6 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each year we hire around 50 college students to be a part of our Summer Staff. They receive a tremendous experience full of fun and growth. Caring for just over 1200 campers in nine weeks will always prove to be a large task. Staff members grow for many reasons. They are asked to serve others non-stop, they are asked to have joy in that service and they are asked to do these things with little sleep in a rustic hot summer camp. One thing we pray for our Summer Staff is that God will grant them a spirit of unity as they serve the campers. The reason for that is found in today's reading: so that with on heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. When the Staff is unified the message is delivered more clearly because it is easily seen in their lives. Also it is more clear because it is not 50 individual voices but one carrying the same good news. Today there are many issues that divide and there are many struggles. I pray that God may give us a spirit of unity in this world so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify God and so that others might join in on praising Him. Let God be glorified in your life today and throughout this weekend! |

| May 1, 2008 Psalm 47:7 For God is the King of all the earth; He is Lord, He is King, Hallelujah Jesus love me... We sing those words in a song at Cross Devo on Thursday nights during Camp. I pray that each of our lives resembles the fact that He is Lord and He is King. That others can see how the Jesus' love has transformed our lives. I pray that we will not only praise God with song but also with each step we take. May God be glorified in you today.
